A VAN burst into flames in a busy main road outside Glasgow. 

Fire crews were shown arriving at the scene of the blaze in Fenwick Road, Giffnock at around 1.30pm today.

A live video taken at the time shows a white van with a trailer ablaze, parked on the pavement in the busy East Renfrewshire street. 

Thankfully, no one was injured in the blaze.

A spokesman for the fire service said: "We were alerted at 1.33pm on Friday, April 23 to reports of a van on fire on Fenwick Road, Giffnock, East Renfrewshire.

"Operations Control mobilised one fire appliance and firefighters extinguished the flames.

"Crews left the scene after ensuring the area was made safe and there were no reported casualties."
