A MAN'S body has been found at a flat in Glasgow's East End. 

Officers were called to the scene at around 11am yesterday after receiving reports of concern for the man at a property on Glenalmond Street in Shettleston.

The 55-year-old was found within and police have confirmed a post-mortem will take place to investigate the cause of the man's death.

Today, plain-clothed officers were seen in the area making door to door enquiries. 

Uniformed police officers also stood guard inside the close of the property.

One dog walker who asked not to be named said: "This is quite a quiet area and you don't hear much happening so it was a bit of a shock to see police there."

A woman who asked not to be named said lots of pensioners live in the area and they would have got a fright.

A police spokesperson said: “Around 11am on Thursday, 3 February, 2022, officers were called to a report of concern for a person at a property on Glenalmond Street, Glasgow.

“On arrival the body of a 55-year-old man was found within. A post mortem examination will take place in due course to establish the exact cause of death, which is currently being treated as unexplained.

"A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
