A TALENTED euphonium player has been named Young Musician of the Year in North Lanarkshire.
Angus Ritchie, a fifth year pupil at Chryston High School, will now take part in the Scottish final in Glasgow later this month.
Kirk Richardson, Instrumental Music Service lead officer, said Angus had showcased "exceptional skills" and his performance was "nothing short of outstanding".
He added: "Angus will now represent North Lanarkshire in the Scottish Young Musician final. The event promises to be an exciting one, with some of the most talented young musicians from all over Scotland competing for the title.”
Runners-up at the North Lanarkshire event were alto saxophonist Gerard O’Neil from St Maurice High School, who came second and third-placed Kurtis Fang from Coltness High School, who played piano.
