THE opening date has been revealed for a popular confectionery retailer at Glasgow Fort.

We previously reported Hotel Chocolat had applied to Glasgow City Council for planning permission to erect illuminated and non-illuminated signage at a unit on 345 Provan Walk in Easterhouse.

Now, it has been confirmed the company will open its brand new store and Velvetiser Cafe next week on Thursday, August 31.

The space occupies a 1900 sq ft unit which seats 38 people, allowing customers to enjoy the sit-in experience whilst browsing a range of top-quality chocolates.

Peter Harris, Hotel Chocolat’s co-founder and development director, said: "Whether you’re after a relaxing drink in our Velvetiser Café or would like to explore our range of top-quality chocolate, our new concept store at Glasgow Fort offers guests the opportunity to shop at a more leisurely pace.

"This latest opening is part of our plans to launch many more stores across the country in the next three to five years.

"Physical stores are extremely attractive and the beauty of being out-of-town is that we have good accessibility and parking so people can visit with ease."

Phil Goodman, centre director at Glasgow Fort, added: "Hotel Chocolat and its Velvetiser Café will be a fantastic addition to the centre – offering our visitors a unique, luxury shopping experience which I’m sure will prove popular.

"We can’t wait to see it open next week."
