TWO men were locked up after being caught with a pyrotechnic at a Rangers and Real Betis match.

Ryan Galloway, 28, and Anton Fleming, 34, were snared at Ibrox Stadium on September 21, 2023.

The Gers were hosting the Spanish outfit in their opening group game of the UEFA Europa League.

Rangers won the match 1-0 with Abdallah Sima netting in the second half.

Court papers state Galloway, of the city's Dennistoun, behaved in a threatening or abusive manner.

The charge says he shouted, swore and uttered offensive remarks as well as derogatory comments.

A separate allegation states Galloway had possession of a pyrotechnic at Ibrox without a reasonable excuse.

Fleming, of Tollcross,  admitted culpably and recklessly igniting a flare within the spectator section of Ibrox.

It is stated that this was done to the danger of the other spectators.

Both men were remanded in custody by police who arrested them.

Philip Cohen, representing Fleming, told the court that his client has a deferred sentence later this month for a separate matter and asked them to be conjoined.

Ian Sievwright, defending Galloway, also asked Sheriff Owen Mullan for a background report on his client.

The matter was deferred and both men were granted bail meantime where more information surrounding the circumstances will be heard.
