A Glasgow bar and restaurant is set to relaunch as a Spanish-inspired cafe after it has been sold.

Smith & Clough Business Associates has announced that the Botany Bar & Restaurant on Maryhill Road in the city's West End has been sold.

After revealing the news, the specialists in the sale of businesses said it will soon be relaunching as Cafe Ibiza - which will bring a 'bit of the Balearics' to the city.

The agents understand the business will now be closing next week to undergo a refurbishment before launching as the new venue on May 11.

Smith & Clough Business Associates said: "With the sun shining in Glasgow it seems an appropriate time to announce the sale of the Botany Bar & Restaurant on Maryhill Road, and that it will soon be relaunching as Cafe Ibiza, bringing a bit of the Balearics to the west end of Glasgow!

"Having sold the Botany to industry veteran Crawford Brechin in 2020, we were delighted to act for him in the disposal, and after receiving strong levels of interest, the business has been sold to Jack Quirk.

"We understand the business will be closing next week for a refurbishment before launching as Cafe Ibiza on May 11.

"We are seeing strong demand for bars & restaurants in Glasgow at the moment so if you or your clients are thinking of selling please get in touch."
