KRIS BOYD has called out Rangers sporting director Ross Wilson, urging him to "front up" over recent decision-making at the club.

It has been a rough few weeks for the Ibrox club following a heavy 4-0 defeat to Celtic in the league and then a loss of the same scoreline to Ajax in the Champions League.

The lack of transfer activity before the summer window closed also resulted in criticism from fans and Ibrox hero Boyd would like to hear some answers from Wilson.

Writing in The Sun, he said: "Ross Wilson is sporting director and responsible for the strategy when it comes to ins and outs.

"That saw him earn a lot of credit for the job he did initially when the rebuilding work at the club first started.

"But it works both ways. If you’re going to stand front and centre in photographs when the team is winning trophies, or qualifying for the Champions League, you have to be visible when things aren’t going so well. That’s when you need to front up.

"But is Wilson responsible for the finances at the club? Is he the reason Rangers didn’t sign anyone in the final hours of the transfer window?

"If he is, then he’s got to come out and explain why. If he’s not, then he’s got to say who did make those decisions."
