CELTIC boss Ange Postecoglou has laughed off his side's recent defeat to St Mirren.

The Hoops gaffer is in Australia while club football takes a short break for the international window.

The Aussie has been doing the media rounds Down Under as he helps to promote the Sydney Super Cup.

The tournament will take place in November during the World Cup domestic break, with Celtic, Everton Sydney FC and Western Sydney Wanderers all taking part.

Appearing on Studio 10 with host Tristan MacManus, the Irish host aimed a cheeky swipe at fellow Scottish giants Rangers - who were initially meant to take part in the Super Cup but later pulled out.

The host said: "I am buzzing. Is there really another team in Scotland? I don't think so."

The Celts lost to St Mirren on Sunday in the final game prior to the international break.

It was the champions' first league defeat in 38-games. Postecoglou joked that the defeat drove him out of Scotland.

He laughed: "We lost for the first time in a year, that's why I left the country."

As the interview continued, it emerged that Postecoglou is a Liverpool fan.

He said: "The boys will be in good nick. It'll be a real game, and as you said, I wouldn't mind knocking off Everton! That would be nice."
