CELTIC defender Alexandro Bernabei is accused of drink driving and being abusive in a nightclub.

The 22-year-old was allegedly more than twice over the limit in Glasgow city centre on August 15.

Court papers state that Bernabei, of the city's Kelvinside, was behind the wheel of a Mercedes A 200 on Bath Street.

It is claimed that the Argentinian had 48 micrograms in 100 millilitres of breath when the limit is 22 micrograms.

Bernabei faces a separate charge of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner a Lola’s nightclub also on Bath Street.

It is stated that while acting in an aggressive manner, Bernabei "shouted and repeatedly refused to leave the premises despite being requested to do so."

Bernabei appeared in the dock with an interpreter today at Glasgow Sheriff Court.

His lawyer Callum Ross said: "He tenders a plea of not guilty.

"There is a motion for bail which is not opposed by the Crown.

"They are seeking an additional condition that my client doesn't enter Lola's Nightclub and he will accept that."

Sheriff Gerard MacMillan set a trial for late March next year with a hearing taking place earlier in the month.

He said: "Remember these dates, you are obliged to remember these dates, no one else.

"Bail has been sought and is not opposed by the Crown and you accept the additional condition as well.

"I emphasise your condition not to enter Lola's nightclub - do not go to that property."
