SCOTS star James McAvoy was named Best Actor at the 2014 Empire Awards in London.
He scooped the prize for his portrayal of Bruce Robertson in the movie adaptation of Irvine Welsh's novel Filth.
Presented his prize by Kate Beckinsale, McAvoy said: "You're faced with a quandary when you're nominated for an award; do you come up with a speech or not?
"I've opted not, but I love you all."
Other winners included Arnold Schwarzenegger for lifetime achievement, Steve Coogan's Alpha Papa for Best Comedy and Simon Pegg was named Empire Hero.
