FANS of rock still value independent record stores and many prefer vinyl to CD, according to a poll.
Glasgow-based TeamRock carried out the survey ahead of Record Store Day, which is held tomorrow.
It revealed that almost half (47%) of the fans surveyed had bought something from an independent record shop in the last month.
The survey, which was conducted among TeamRock.com's online audience, revealed a quarter of those polled had bought an album on vinyl from an independent record shop in the last month.
It also showed the 35 to 44-year-old age group made the most vinyl purchases in the last month.
Editor in chief of TeamRock, Alexander Milas said: While there's little doubt the landscape of the music industry has changed, it's clear one thing that hasn't changed is the passion fans feel for the music they love."
