US blues musician BB King is being treated in hospital for dehydration, his family have said.
His daughter told the LA Times the 89-year-old's illness was caused by diabetes, which he has had for many years.
King, whose career include his 1988 collaboration with U2, When Love Comes To Town, is regarded as one of the greats of the electric blues and is famous for his trademark Gibson guitar called Lucille.
The performer, born Riley B King in Mississippi, began his recording career in the 1940s and has released more than 50 albums.
He has also played with rock stars including Ringo Starr and Eric Clapton and was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in 1987.
He fell ill during a show last year and cancelled his tour after being diagnosed with dehydration and exhaustion.
