GLASGOW has been named among Europe’s top clubbing destinations.

Scotland’s biggest city also came out as second in the UK for having the most affordable nightlife, just behind Leeds.

Europe-wide, Glasgow came in 13th place out of 30 for having one of the most affordable nights out, according to the European Club Price Index 2019.

According to the results, the average night out in the Scots city sets punters back an average of £67.11.

This includes, on average, £12 entry, £3.82 for beer, £8.00 for a mixer, £15 for a taxi and £28.29 for accommodation.

Spanish island Ibiza came last with an average night out there costing a staggering £361.27.

To identify Europe’s best clubbing destinations, HomeToGo used online mapping tools, user reviews, events listings websites and city guides to find the cities with the highest concentration of nightlife venues, the most events listed and the highest quality events.

The team used online event listings and menus and, where they were not available, contacted clubs in each city directly to find out the average price of entry on a Saturday night, a standard small beer (usually 330ml, although standard sizes vary by country), and a mixed drink (single measure, cheapest mixed drink available).

Taxi prices were for an average five-mile journey within the city limits and came from a leading global cost of living index.

Accommodation prices were sourced from the team’s own search data.
