FROM secret gigs in 2019 to the big stage this year, Llandudno's Adam Hender is coming home to share some of his vision for 2020.
Brandishing a slew of infectious, honest and heartfelt songs Hender will take to the Venue Cymru stage in February following his first run of headline shows in Glasgow, Manchester and London.
Hender will soar home after the release of his anthemic new single Burn, which hit 100,000 streams on Spotify in a matter of weeks, and has been heard by millions more since, as well as receiving its first play on Radio 1’s Best New Pop show.
From the age of 14, he honed his songcraft in pubs and open mic nights.
As he puts it, “Llandudno is a beautiful place with a lot of lovely people; an easy environment to build my confidence in performing.”
Those songs, inspired by the fragility of relationships and friendships formed from a childhood in North Wales to adventures across North America, culminating in the maturity of the deeply personal ballad Burn, which gazes into the darker side of love and is inspired by a toxic relationship.
Further evidence of the power and scale of his songwriting and performance can be found in footage of his 2019 'secret' show at Conwy’s Gwynfryn Chapel, which was converted into a gig venue for the first time and played host to a packed crowd that included Love Island’s Callum Macleod, Welsh rugby legend Rupert Moon and footballer Clayton Blackmore.
To welcome this rising star home in triumph, head to Venue Cymru on Saturday, February 22 at 7.30pm.
Tickets are £13, to book visit venuecymru.co.uk or call the box office on 01492 872000.
