TICKETS are still available to welcome home one of Llandudno's rising stars.
Singer-songwriter Adam Hender will return to North Wales at Venue Cymru this Saturday, February 22 at 7.30pm.
The show is part of a tour that will see the 22-year-old take to the stage in his first headlining appearances in Glasgow, Manchester and London. It also marks his first gig of the year following a secret show in Conwy last September.
Hender makes a triumphant return after the release of his anthemic new single Burn, which hit 100,000 streams on Spotify in a matter of weeks.
The track, which sits proudly alongside a slew of infectious, honest and heartfelt songs, has been heard by millions more since, as well as receiving its first play on Radio 1’s Best New Pop show.
From the age of 14, he honed his songcraft in pubs and open mic nights. As he puts it, “Llandudno is a beautiful place with a lot of lovely people; an easy environment to build my confidence in performing.”
Those songs, inspired by the fragility of relationships and friendships formed from a childhood in North Wales to adventures across North America, culminating in the maturity of the deeply personal ballad Burn, which gazes into the darker side of love and is inspired by a toxic relationship.
The power and scale of his songwriting and performance can be found in footage of his 2019 ‘secret’ show at Conwy’s Gwynfryn Chapel, which hosted a packed crowd including Love Island’s Callum Macleod, Welsh rugby legend Rupert Moon and footballer Clayton Blackmore.
Tickets cost £13 from www.venuecymru.co.uk or call the box office on 01492 872000.
