The Gold Standard programme by Glasgow Housing Association gives tenants the opportunity to make those views heard and have them put into practice.
The Evening Times Streets Ahead campaign has been helping people create better environments all over Glasgow and GHA has been a key partner in that drive.
The Gold Standard initiative is putting power in the hands of tenants by inviting residents to join a local forum, identify the problems and devise an action plan.
Some areas are still blighted by dog fouling, fly-tipping and vandalism, others might need back courts cleaned up, or bin areas and common closes improved.
The important part of the scheme is tenant participation which must be at the heart of any effort to clean up our neighbourhoods.
The people who live in our streets know what is needed and can have a hand in taking the action to make a difference.
GHA is backing the programme with considerable investment of £50million and with the support of tenants who take a pride in their home the aim of Gold Standard across the city can be achieved.
