IT WAS "taps aff" weather at Ibrox Park in 1958 as Rangers stars Iain McColl, Ralph Brand, Johnny Hubbard and Alex Scott enjoyed an impromptu kickabout in the sunshine.
South African-born Hubbard was obviously missing the heat of the veldt, and kept his semmit on. Nicknamed The Penalty King by the Ibrox faithful, Hubbard scored 65 goals from 68 penalty kicks, 22 consecutively. He is also the only foreign-born player to have scored a hat-trick in an Old Firm derby.
Brand was no slouch either, putting three past Borussia Mönchengladbach in a famous 8-0 drubbing of the German giants in 1960.
With their peely-wally legs, capacious baggy shorts and, surprisingly for the time, black baseball boots, these guys were the football pin-ups of their day.
