These boats were left high and dry on the streets of Glasgow after the waters receded when the city was deluged by floods in October 1954.
This was the scene in Glenspean Street, Pollokshaws.
Earlier, drains had been blocked by leaves and other debris and these rowing boats from Rouken Glen Park had to be used to ferry food to cut-off families.
Everywhere, grass lay blackened and muddy, while piles of refuse lay where bins had floated and then overturned.
All over the city phone lines were out of action because exchanges were flooded, while rail services were halted due to tracks in tunnels being under water.
As always, it took time to clear up. As for the boats, they went back into leisure use at the park.
