There were some big names in the football world back in 1986, the days when star players such as Kenny Dalglish, Graeme Souness, Willie Miller, Gordon Strachan, Ally McCoist and Roy Aitken took the field in Scotland’s international colours. But even they would not have been big enough to fill this massive boot, which was being used as a promotion at the Athlete Shop in Argyle Street, in Glasgow city centre, as part of the build-up to the Scots playing in the World Cup Finals in Mexico. Sadly, the results when they got there are best forgotten.
