Bobbi Brown Limited Edition Wine Palette, reviewed by Hannah Rodger
CHRISTMAS is a time when I like to wear my best makeup and usually invest in a something sparkly before party season.
This palette from Bobbi Brown satisfied my need for a touch of grown up sparkle which can still be used after the tinsel comes down.

Displayed in gorgeous leather and gold packaging, it’s a feast for the eyes before it’s even open.

Inside, the four eye shadows in a glittery dark brown, metallic dusty pink, shimmery gold and off-white are perfect for creating a stunning party look.

Three pigmented eyeliners also match perfectly with the shadows, allowing you to give your eyes even more definition. The highly pigmented shadows and liners mean the smallest amount goes a long way. As someone who can’t usually wear eyeshadow for more than an hour without it sliding off or creasing into my lids, I was amazed after 4 hours when my eye makeup was still intact and looked freshly applied.

As a gift it won’t leave anyone feeling like they’ve drawn the short straw at Secret Santa and as a pre-Christmas treat for yourself, it is definitely a good investment.

Soap and Glory - Take Your Pink Set, reviewed by Holly Lennon
IT'S not Christmas in my house unless you’ve been gifted a Soap and Glory set.

My mum has been cashing in on the Boots “3 for 2” deal since my sisters and I were teenagers and Soap and Glory has always been her go to brand.

Among the Christmas sets on offer this year is Take Your Pink which includes the Clean On Me shower gel, Scrub Of Your Life body buffer, The Righteous Butter body butter, Hand Food hand cream and a good-old shower puff.

The set is the ideal size for a stocking filler or for someone who is just dipping their toe in the Soap and Glory pond.
It encompasses all of the best bath and body products giving the you the perfect taster of what the brand has to offer.

Another bonus is that they all smell great and each product compliments the other - giving you the ultimate post-Christmas pamper.

The set is available to buy at www.boots.com priced £7.99.

Other than the Supercat Skinny eyeliner, my knowledge of Soap and Glory’s make up range has been pretty minimal. In saying that, the eyeliner was great and I love their other products, so I had high hopes before trying out the brand’s She’s The Gloss lip gloss set.

In full disclosure, I’m not really a lip gloss kind of girl. I don’t really like the texture and the fact my hair gets stuck in it 100 per cent of the time.

The Soap and Glory set offers a good selection of colours, especially for those who are a fan of nude and natural shades, but none that really stand out. The textures are unbearably thick but, as is usually the way with gloss, they produce a nice shine.

At £14 the set is good value for money and would make for a good gift or stocking filler.

Scottish Fine Soaps - Christmas Soap in a Tin, reviewed by Caroline Wilson

THE Falkirk-based family business has produced a festive range of their cult soaps in mouth-watering flavours including spiced apple, winter pine and gingerbread.

The tins the soaps come in are absolutely gorgeous with a vintage design and cheery festive messages.

You won't be able to stop smelling these soaps once the lid is lifted.

Rich lathering and deliciously scented, they leave a lovely, lingering aroma in your bathroom. The perfect little gift for someone to show you care without breaking the bank.

Elemis Stocking Fillers, reviewed by Catriona Stewart
THE one thing you don't want at Christmas is yet another dull gift set of smellies that won't ever see the light of day.
What you do want is to show your friends and family how much you love them with a real treat they wouldn't necessarily splash out on themselves.

Luxury should be the watchword for Christmas... and that's where Elemis comes in with its range of Stocking Fillers.
The high-end brand has created exclusive online collections from smaller items perfect for little mindings or lavish gift sets.

Each contains two matching products from Elemis's aromatic ranges as well as a Men's Skincare Duo and comes in elegant packaging designed to hang on the Christmas tree.
I tried the British Botanical duo: a shower cream and a body cream.

Texture and smell, along with how they leave your skin feelings, are vital parts of shower basics.

And these don't fail to deliver. The smell is light and floral with an earthy undertone while the shower cream is beautifully creamy - perfect for skin dried out by freezing weather and central heating.

The body cream has a rich texture but sinks into the skin without any residue, leaving it soft and refreshed. The smell lingers for hours too.

This is a lovely wee treat for someone and - good news for Mr and Mrs Claus - it won't break the bank either.

Origins Ginger Pleasures set, reviewed by Catriona Stewart
ORIGINS is offering up two Ginger-themed gift sets this year.
One is Ginger Pleasures, a five-strong mix of Ginger hand lotion, Ginger Burst savoury body lotion, Ginger Gloss smoothing body oil, Ginger Souffle whipped body cream and Ginger Essence Sensuous Skin Scent.

The other is Go Ginger: three little treats of Ginger Burst Savory body wash, Incredible Spreadable Scrub Ginger body Scrub and Ginger Souffle Whipped body cream.

Of course, it would be a good idea to check the recipient likes ginger before splashing out on one of these.

But for a festive fragrance you can't go far wrong with the warm, spicy smell of ginger. With Origins, it manages to be strong enough to pack a punch but not cloying or overwhelming.

I try the Ginger hand lotion. It smells divine and is light in texture. However, it unfortunately leaves a residue, rather than fully sinking in. It's probably more of a treat item than something that will work hard in the winter months when a hard-working product is needed.

The Incredible Spreadable Scrub is far more pleasing. The sugars in the scrub get to work before dissolving and leaving a moisturising layer on the skin. I felt I didn't need to add moisturiser on top but for very dry skin it might be good to follow up with the body cream.

Origins says the scrub is gentle enough for every day use but, for my sensitive skin, once every three to four days was enough. It's a lovely soothing, smoothing product.

Ginger Pleasures costs £40 from all Origins outlets. Go Ginger is £15.

Big Sexy Lip Kit by Benefit Cosmetics, reviewed by Victoria Brenan

Benefit have created the ultimate 2-in-1 product – a lipstick and liner in one!

Thanks to the teardrop shape of the Big Sexy Lip Kit, it makes it easy to define your lip line and fill it in without the need for multiple brushes and product.

The colour lasted a good few hours and my lips did look fuller than normal.

My only complaint, I found the red a bit garish.

All in all, a lip smacking four out of five stars

The Big Sexy Lip Kit costs £22.
