THERE is always a buzz when Jo Malone launches a new fragrance, although I've never quite forgiven them for discontinuing my favourite Fig and Cassis scent.
However fans of the luxury brand can look forward to two new scents this Autumn.
While many perfumes incorporate Sandlewood or Cedarwood, the latest fragrances by the cult London perfumier are focussed on the English Oak.
English Oak and Hazelnut and English Oak and Redcurrant will be launched on September 1.
I tried the English Oak and Hazelnut which is the more unisex of the two. It contains a top note of Green Hazelnut with heart and base notes of Cedarwood and Roasted Oak Absolute, developing into a very earthy and sensual scent after an hour or so.
As with all Jo Malone scents though, the fun is in the mixing and I prefer it sweetened up with a scoosh of one of my favourites, Blackberry and Bay.
English Oak and Hazelnut, available from September 1, priced £44 for 30ml
