A Glasgow business has reopened after being 'forced to close' due to road closures in the city centre.

We previously reported that Gordon Street doughnut shop Tantrum Doughnuts were unable to get there due to the closures imposed by the UCI Cycling World Championships.

They informed their customers of the issue via social media on Friday.

Now the team have managed to gain access to the store and can open as usual.

They added that the council apologised for 'mistakes' made with road closures.

A statement shared on Saturday read: "We’re in!! Our Gordon Street shop will be open today, we were allowed access during the designated delivery time as promised.

"We also got a sort of apology from GCC who admitted mistakes were made when blocking off areas yesterday.

"Although we’re still angry, we want to leave yesterday behind and focus on the next few days being positive and busy.

"Thank you again for your support yesterday, we look forward to seeing you in here for fresh, handmade doughnuts!"

A Glasgow City Council spokesperson said: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused this morning, and have been in contact with the sub-contractors to reiterate the timings for the road closures and when barriers should be in place.”
