The club took to Instagram earlier this evening to share the news, writing: "It’s with a heavy heart the doors at SYMBØL will be closed as of today.
"It was a decision that wasn’t easy, sometimes in life, it doesn’t work out the way you want it to - but we’re glad we tried.
"All information attached. Thanks again for all your support and understanding.
"We may be back in the future when the time is right …."
The club also hinted at the rising cost of living as a factor leading to the closure.
Following the news, fans of the venue stormed the post with messages of gratitude for the 'outstanding venue'.
One person wrote: "Gutted, what a space this was."
While another added: "Such sad news, but massive respect for taking on the scene at such a tough time.
"You've been a big inspiration to a lot of artists & groups and it's gutting to see your project come to an end so soon.
"Best of luck with whatever you do next, no doubt you'll smash it."
