A Glasgow restauranteur has revealed what gift Rangers boss Michael Beale gave him which left him 'in tears'.
While he was an assistant to Steven Gerrard, Beale became acquainted with Satty Singh of the iconic Indian restaurant Mister Singh's.
After following Gerrard to Premier League side Aston Villa in November 2021, he returned to Glasgow for Christmas the following month where he presented the chef with a very special present.
He revealed all to Grado and Crofty when they visited Mister Singh's in the latest episode of their food podcast, Rate The Plate.
Singh said: "Michael comes in, gives me a wee bottle of champagne, put his hand in his pocket and pulls out his 55 winners' medal and gave me it as a Christmas present."
He said the interaction had him 'in tears', adding: "I said, 'Michael the last time I cried on Christmas Eve was 40 years ago when my mum said Santa Claus isn't coming if you don't clean your room.'
"12 months later Michael's at Ibrox."
Singh also told the hosts that his restaurant is home to a replica of the 1967 European Cup which Celtic won, so customers who are Rangers fans get a photo with the medal while Celtic fans pose with the cup replica.
