COSTCO is looking to open a new store in Glasgow, it has been revealed.

The discount retailer is currently eyeing up 14 locations across the UK "as soon as possible", a source told The Sun.

Included in the list is "South Glasgow".

It is understood the new stores could "feasibly be completed within the next two years", although some could be delayed if the acquisitions take longer than planned.

In Glasgow, the company already has a store at St Rollox Business Park, in the North of the city.

The company is working with property development company Chase Commercial to find and convert the new sites, but all the purchases will be self-funded.

Justin Parker, director at Chase Commercial, said: "We are really pleased to be partnered with Costco to deliver further warehouse clubs for them throughout the UK.

"We are currently seeking 6-12 acre sites to provide 150,000 sq ft buildings with 650 parking spaces and the ability to develop a petrol filling & electric vehicle station."
