A Glasgow star is offering people a chance to break into the music industry with the chance to support him at his headline show.

Scots country star, Kevin McGuire, says the chance is open to emerging talent as he understands how tough it can be to get a break within the industry.

Kevin got his break after starring on stage with George Bowie after the legendary DJ noticed him on YouTube.

And now the country singer has now performed a number of gigs with George Bowie as well as their hit Wagon Wheel, which has had just over 140k views on YouTube and has half a million streams across all platforms.

Performing at the Classic Grands for his biggest show to date on Friday, October 6, Kevin said that performing with the Clyde 1 host at Coloursfest was an "honour".

He said: “Performing Wagon Wheel at Coloursfest with George was bonkers. The crowd were absolutely incredible and were going totally nuts for it.

"It was my first Coloursfest, so it was an honour to be asked by George to perform with him.

"The George shows are so different to my other gigs, so it's my chance to just completely let loose, jump around and totally be in the moment for a few minutes!

“Sometimes I can get a wee bit nervous because at the end of the day Wagon Wheel is a country tune and there's not a lot of that in dance music, but they seem to love it."

But Kev’s feet are firmly on the ground and he is keen to help rising stars get the kind of breaks he has had.

He said: "I'm looking for an opening act for the show, and the reason I've put a post out instead of going through an agency/promoter is because I know how tough it can be for emerging artists unless they're represented.

“It was never a level playing field for me and it's something I want to change here locally in the music industry.

"I'm looking for a local act who's passionate about the songs they write, knows how to get a crowd going, and is excited to showcase their music

“Just send an email with a little bit of info about yourself, why you'd be a great fit for the show, and some links so I can check out your music!”
