A bustling city shopping centre will be taken over for a 'one-of-a-kind' event next weekend.

St Enoch Centre is partnering with Glasgow Girls Club to host an event from Saturday, September 9 to Sunday, September 10.

The women's networking group will 'take over' the centre with a variety of workshops, live music, tarot readings, and a book signing with author Sophie Gravia.

The Glasglow Girls Club is a bustling Facebook group of over 40,000 women from Glasgow who have long been asking for events to support them to forge new friendships in the city.

Author of bestselling novels A Glasgow Kiss and What Happens in Dubai, Sophie's latest novel Meet Me in Milan was released on August 27.

Sophie will be stationed on the ground floor of the shopping centre to meet and greet fans from 3pm on the Saturday at the newly rebranded "Connection Cafe".

For those looking to meet like-minded women and build meaningful connections, Glasgow Girls Club will be holding a special "speed friending" afternoon tea with cafe Muffin Break.

An array of workshops, silent discos, and a pre-loved pop-up will also be happening over the weekend.

Anne Ledgerwood, St Enoch Centre director, said: "We are delighted to welcome Glasglow Girls Club to hold a takeover of the centre for this exciting weekend event.

“Glasglow Girls Club is a successful networking group that has clearly captured the hearts of women across the city, and we have very much enjoyed working with them to create this unique event. We are confident it will be a success for everyone involved.”

Laura Maginess, founder of Glasgow Girls Club, added: "We are thrilled to be holding the very first Glasglow Girls Club Weekender at this renowned city centre destination – and very much hope it is the start of a long-lasting partnership with St. Enoch Centre.

“We have so much in store for the event, with everything from tarot reading to flash mobs and even a book signing with the remarkable bestselling author, Sophie Gravia. It’s set to be a truly spectacular weekend!"
