A popular market is set to open its first brick-and-mortar shopfront in the Southside.

SPOT Design Market is renowned for its packed Christmas events and an impressive array of creative stockists.

Now, the organisation is expanding with its first-ever shop and gallery space on Pollokshaws Road.

Taking over the former Jodandys Cafe, founder Anna Hepburn hopes the new space will provide a platform for Scottish makers and creatives to sell and exhibit their work.

She said: "We've already started working hard on transforming the space, with help from friends and family.

"Our aim is to open the shop and gallery space by early to mid-October.

"We want to create our own vibrant community space in the heart of Glasgow's Southside; selling small business design and craft, showing works in our gallery and offering all kinds of events for people from Glasgow and beyond to attend."

To complete the revamp of the unit, the team has launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise the £13,900 needed for essential renovation and outfitting of the shop and downstairs gallery.
