REVEALED: Burger joint to take over former Stack & Still at Silverburn.

A popular family restaurant at Silverburn shopping centre will close permanently next week.

After four years, Stack & Still will be "sadly flipping their last pancakes this weekend" at the Southside restaurant.

The closure will not affect the firm's four other Glasgow locations and a new operator will be taking the keys for the restaurant next month.

It is understood the new owner will be saving the jobs of the 10 staff members impacted.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Stack & Still said: "We will continue to be open at this location through to the evening of Monday, September 25.

"We are thrilled to be handing over the restaurant and staff to a new offering and operator who will be taking over at the beginning of October."

Paul Reynolds, the chief executive officer of Stack & Still, said the decision was a "sad and difficult one to make", but it would allow a new operator to fully utilise the Silverburn unit.

He added: "As a company, we have made the decision to focus on our four Glasgow locations in Glasgow City Centre, Glasgow Fort, Braehead and recently opened Glasgow Airport.

"These locations perform well and we are thankful to our very loyal customer base.

"Our Silverburn location is large and we are pleased to be able to pass over to an exceptional operator who is securing the future for the majority of our staff.

"We appreciate the kindness and support of our customers over the past four years and we look forward to welcoming them to our other locations."

As a thank you to all customers who visit the restaurant at Silverburn from Friday, September 22 through to Monday, September 25,  a £10 voucher for a future visit will be handed out for use at other Glasgow locations.
