Mick and Bianca Jagger, Twiggy, Marianne Faithfull and The Beatles all embraced Ossie Clark's effortlessly individual designs.
And since last year's successful relaunch of the Ossie Clark London label, the 'King of the King's Road' has reigned again with a range of new garments inspired by the late designer.
The new autumn/winter collection, with 90 pieces in total, is full of flounce and flourish for the party season.
The relaxed clean-cut A line dresses and coats, sash waists, long bell-sleeves, and smart suiting all focus on Ossie's 1960s and 1970s ballet-inpired designs.
It is about ruffles, feather prints and floral bursts.
But the party really kicks off with voluptuous evening-wear such as stretch panné velvet dresses, soft crepe maxi-dresses with thigh-high slits, more maxis with cut outs and frill shoulders and an iconic jumpsuit, all of which display Ossie's design DNA.
The designer, who was stabbed to death, aged 54, by his former lover in 1996, worked closely with his ex-wife, print designer Celia Birtwell to make gowns for the likes of Elizabeth Taylor and Liza Minnelli.
Celebrities, including Emma Watson, Daisy Lowe and Gillian Anderson, still wear his original vintage pieces on the red carpet.
The remastered label is being sold in Glasgow's Argyle Street branch of Debenhams.
