Actress and model Lily Cole will play Helen of Troy in a new play by poet Simon Armitage.
She will appear in The Last Days Of Troy, based on the classical epic The Iliad, at Manchester's Royal Exchange Theatre for a month from May 8 before the show moves to Shakespeare's Globe in central London.
Cole, who starred in a remake of St Trinian's and Snow White, is also an environmental campaigner and was honoured for her work last year when she received an honorary degree of doctor of letters from Glasgow Caledonian University.
The actress, who is an ambassador for a number of charities including Global Angels, WaterAid and the Environmental Justice Foundation, has also presented a series of documentaries for Sky Arts.
