Caffeine aficionado Dear Green Coffee Roasters has announced the date for its second Scottish Aeropress Championship, to be held next month at Glasgow's SWG3.
Open to both amateur and professional coffee lovers, 20 competitors are welcomed to enter and flex their brewing skills on the cult coffee making device the Aerobie Aeropress for a chance to fly to Seattle and compete in the World Aeropress Championship.
Flights and accommodation for the trip have been arranged by the competition's sponsors, who include TKC Sales, Aeropress UK, Aerobie, La Marzocco and Marco Beverage Systems.
In-keeping with the rules and format of every national championship, each competitor will have eight minutes to grind, brew and develop their perfect cup, using only an Aeropress machine.
Three industry expert judges - John Thomson of Coffee Nexus; Matt Slater of Falcon Speciality; and James Shepard of World Coffee Events - will then decide on the best balance of flavours from each Aeropressed coffee.
Coffee will be flowing from the Scottish showcase Brew Bar manned by Stan's Studio, with food provided from the celebrated Babu Bombay Street Kitchen and a specially brewed beer on the SWG3 bar from the collaborative brains of Dear Green and Drygate.
Entry to the event is free.
