Cinderella, Citizens, Glasgow
Reviewed by Caroline Wilson, her niece Patti Atkinson, 9 and friend Summar Dabudabu,9.
WHAT'S IT ABOUT? The classic rags to riches fairytale with a festive feel good twist.
ANY FAMOUS FACES? Malcolm Shields who had a cameo in Ken Loach's I Daniel Blake.
Irene Allan returns to the Citz, who was last last seen as the witch in Hansel and Gretel and packs a punch as Cinderella's wicked stepmother.
KID'S VERDICT: I liked the happy ending and the part where they all moved like the hands of a clock when it got to midnight. Also, when the dog jumped on our chairs in the break.
GROWN UP VERDICT: Funny and affecting with fabulous costumes, live instruments and great audience interaction. The stepmother might be a little scary for a sensitive younger child, the show is aimed at the over sixes.
FUNNIEST BIT: When the ugly sisters get sent to the kitchen to work and the bit where they bash each others' toes to fit into Cinderella's glass slipper.
SCARIEST BIT: When the stepmother shouted at Cinderella.
