ST MIRREN'S assistant boss is the oldest player to play in the SPL after he beat Jim Leighton's record (41 years and 302 days) appearing against Motherwell at 41 years 336 days old on May 12. His long list of former clubs includes Hamilton, Kilmarnock and Hibs and he moved to Love Street in 2004, helping them gain promotion from Division One in 2006 and stay in the SPL this season. What's your best moment with the club?

Last season in terms of winning the Challenge Cup for the third time in my own career and winning the championship, which was the first time I had done that - and then playing in the Premier League. And your worst?

You always have ups and downs but I don't think I have had any awful moments in football - and nothing bad in Paisley thankfully. Which is your favourite away ground?

The Old Firm must be up there but Tynecastle is a fantastic venue. Rangers and Celtic will never be beaten in Scotland but at Hearts the fans are right on top of you. Who has been the best player at your club over the years?

I can vaguely recall Alex Ferguson being at the club and that side were blessed with great players. When you look at the guys I've played with, Kirk Broadfoot has got a great opportunity in his career and I hope he fulfils his potential. What is your favourite goal of all time?

A strike against St Mirren when I was at Clyde in 2001/02 won goal of the season. I hit it from the edge of the box with my left foot and it flew past Ludovic Roy. Who was your most influential manager?

I've worked under some good people like Billy McLaren, Tommy Burns and Billy Stark. Without their advice and guidance I don't think I would have gone on to achieve what I have done in the game. What is your favourite piece of club memorabilia?

My championship medal and the Challenge Cup medal, too. I'll keep hold of the top I finished with at the end of the season because that will probably be the end of it. (Andy will still be registered as a player but is "realistic" about his chances of playing a part). Which is your club's favourite kit?

The black and white stripes with white shorts and socks is a nice strip. I used to like one of the away kits we had at Killie which was all white, too. Who is the greatest Scottish player of all time?

Kenny Dalglish must be up there but my hero was Danny McGrain. I thought he was a fantastic player and a great, great professional. What one thing would you change about Scottish football?

I'd change the size of the leagues. It is too cut-throat and enlarging the SPL would give clubs a fighting chance.
