AROUND 40 of the world's top inline skaters will swing into action in a major tournament later this week.
The Chaz Sands Invitational is taking place on Saturday at Unit 23 Skatepark in Dumbarton.
Clydebank's Chaz is one of the top professional inline skaters.
The 22-year-old will be competing for the top prize of £3000 with fellow pros from all over Europe and the US.
There will also be an open competition for up to 100 inline skaters (also known as rollerbladers).
Unit 23 was opened in June 2003 and now has a membership of more than 8000 skaters, bladers and bikers.
It was converted from a whisky warehouse in Dumbarton and has two halls with a series of interlinking ramps and bowls.
The facility attracts up to 200 children on a Friday night and police have attributed it with helping cut down youth disorder.
