New pop sensation Stefy Rae and I had a chat about her first gig in and visit to Glasgow. I always love asking new visitors their thoughts on the city and she admitted: "It's cold, but I saw a couple of hot dudes."

I guess Glasgow weather will be a bit of a contrast to Stefy's usual climate back home in Orange County, South California.

Before going on stage in Glasgow, she said: "I'm very excited about it. I don't how the audience will react to a band like us, so I am nervous."

At first, I thought Stefy was an electro dance act, but the voice and face of the band reassures me it is pop.

"We are definitely a pop band, but a different side of pop," she says.

So you're not electro?

"Yeah, well I think we are more an electro/nu-music band."

So we can safely say they are pop with a bit of electro mixed in.

I have also heard Stefy is on a bit of a mission to change the face of pop, but she is a modest girl.

"I am a dork on stage," she says.

So how does that work with the guys? The young lady is surrounded by guys in her band, so why does she want to be in a band full of boys?

"I like boys," she says, with a smirk.

Why are there no girl members?

"I really don't get on with chicks. I don't like girly girls, and I never did. Growing up I never liked girls, they are always mean and bratty."

Well, that clears that one up!

So what is the big selling point for getting on with guys so well?

"Guys are so much easier, laid back and chilled."

Laid back and chilled? Clearly, the guys Stefy knows do not work hard enough!

So what does she do to chill and hang out?

"Play some pool or go watch a movie, I am a real movie girl."

What about partying?

"I can't do the partying thing either."

A bad experience perhaps?

"Well, I had a little too much wine in Manchester, it was a disaster. I was doing the moonwalk on the bar and everything."

Still, at least Stefy had not been drinking when recording her new single Chelsea, which is out now.

ROMEO'S SING.LE OF THE WEEK

Gym Class Heroes - Cupid Chokehold This incredibly catchy song samples Supertramp's huge hit Breakfast In America, and is guaranteed to have you tapping along to it, if not some singing as well!

ROMEO'S QUOTE OF THE WEEK I'll take on any animal, any person or thing. Somebody who is 6ft 5in, they might beat the hell out of me, but I will break their nose before I go down. - David Gest, left, denying he is "some sort of wuss".
