COMEDY cult Still Game is returning to our screens with a new seven-part TV series.

And this time around it features a line up of special guests, including singing star Michelle McManus.

Michelle, from Ballieston, Glasgow, told how she was delighted to be asked to film a special role in Still Game where she appears in the Clansman alongside Jack and Victor, played by Ford Kiernan and Greg Hemphill.

"I've just had the best two days of my life," said the singer who found fame on reality TV show Pop Idol.

"Funny thing is though, when the script was sent to my London agents they weren't sure I should do it all.

"They didn't know of the series. And they said to me Are you sure you want to do this, Michelle? It's got swearing in it?' "But I said Absolutely.' The boys are fantastic. And I had the most fantastic time."

Michelle joins a list of special guest stars in this series including former world boxing champ Jim Watt, TV presenter Lorraine Kelly and comedy veteran Una McLean and Michelle's sister, Maria.

"I brought my sister along for the day and she ended up working as an extra.

"You can see her in a Clansman scene. She had a fantastic time."

Michelle can't reveal too much about her Still Game role but she says it involves a really funny twist.

"I play a girl who orders up pizza in the show, which isn't entirely unbelievable," she said with a smile.

But in fact, Michelle eats far less pizza these days.

The singer, who releases an album later year and will sing at the Variety Club concert in November, completed Edinburgh's Moonwalk half marathon charity event on Sunday.

"I would have done the full marathon but I was singing the next day," she said. "I just ran out of time."

Ford and Greg will be on the GMTV couch with Lorraine on July 12 when the first episode is screened.

"Lorraine told us she's a big fan of the show," said Ford.
