TWO sixth year pupils from Glasgow today had the chance to quiz leading world figures at a special event in Glasgow.

Annabelle Njenga and Sean Watson, both 17, won the chance to question former US vice-president Al Gore and ex-UN chief weapons inspector Hans Blix.

Mr Gore and Mr Blix are guests of honour at the VIP lunch and Sean and Annabelle won an Evening Times draw to quiz them.

Glasgow's Hilton Hotel was this morning at the centre of a major security operation in preparation for the arrival of the two speakers.

Today's event was organised by restaurant boss Satty Singh's firm A&S Promotions, with the Evening Times as media partner.

Meanwhile, a film made by Mr Gore will be shown in Scots schools.

Environment Minister Ross Finnie announced the documentary on climate change, An Inconvenient Truth, will be shown in every secondary.
