Were you satisfied with the result against Saints? I think it was very hard for them to keep their defending momentum. We made a decent start and had chances that we didn't take but they got a good strike and we had to react to that. When we got to 2-1 our football after that was good, and that second goal broke their spirit a wee bit.

Jan Vennegoor did well. Jan has presence. When you look across the tunnel and see him standing there you think, He can play, he has a presence'. It's helpful for us to have that, for the players to be able to see him in our team.

What did you make of Thomas Gravesen today? His passing was good but we need to work on his shape when defending. He needs to learn a bit about that but with the ball he was fine. Without the ball we had a bit of difficulty but we'll get round that.

Were you pleased for Kenny Miller? Yeah, brilliant. I did warn him when he went on not to take any penalties going. He had to get goals in other ways and he did.

How important is Shunsuke Nakamura when you need him in tight moments? I said that to Gus. His guys worked hard but it just so happens that I have a guy who can open up anybody - well, I've got one or two who can do that - but him especially. It is what you need in a tight game and he has produced again.

I thought there was some marvellous football from him at times. We have been lucky, we have decent players who can pull something out of the bag when all has not been brilliant, as Jarosik did last week at Tynecastle.

It was nice for Craig Beattie to get a start. He gave us raw energy and a good start to the game. We can only hope that he gets on a good run now. We took him off towards the end just to protect him."

Did John Kennedy enjoy being around the squad? He did. Garry Pendrey thought he could have been a sub last week but no, I think I'll just wait now and let him develop. He is upbeat now, the best I've seen him. He's always been upbeat but there is a real enjoyment to his training now.
