DADO Prso has been given the all-clear to continue his career for another year - but that might not be at Rangers.

The Croatian striker had thought about retiring after this season, but specialists have examined his dodgy knee and told him he can play on without fear of any long-term damage.

But there is no new deal currently on the table at Ibrox for the 32-year-old, whose contract expires in the summer.

And it is believed there is strong interest in the Gers hitman from cash-rich clubs from Qatar in the Middle East.

An agent who works for the Qatar FA, who hold the registrations of every player and then farm all their foreign stars out to clubs in the Gulf state, is reported to have contacted the player.

Prso's agent Ranko Stojic said: "Dado has been told he can play on for a minimum of one more season.

"He has had his problems, but he is very happy with his fitness at the moment.

"Dado wants to play on for as long as possible and he is feeling much better now than he was a few weeks ago.

"He will see how things go, but the doctor has said there are no risks for him or his club and there are no problems.

"Everything is possible. We will see if Rangers want him or if he can go elsewhere. He won't be short of offers on the Continent, but I think he would like to stay at Ibrox."

Meanwhile, the three remaining members of the Rangers team that won the European Cup- Winners' Cup in 1972 not already in the club's Hall of Fame have had that honour bestowed on them.

Willie Mathieson, Dave Smith and Alfie Conn have all been recognised for their role in the triumph over Moscow Dynamo.

Rangers Supporters' Assembly president Jim Templeton said: "The committee felt it was fitting that on the 35th anniversary of Barcelona the three remaining team members should be inducted into the Hall of Fame."

Jimmy Gordon, the right-half who played for Rangers 334 times between 1907 and 1920, has also been honoured.
