TALK about hanging around for a tram!
Back in 1963, there was plenty of huffing and puffing at Meadowside Quay in Glasgow as the crew of the US ship American Scientist loaded a city tram on board.
The caur' was destined for the Seashore Trolley Museum in Kennebunkport, Maine. It was welcomed at the dock there by a large Gathering of the Order of Scottish Clans.
Forty-four years later both the tram, with Yoker on the destination board, and the museum are still a major attraction. So if you're ever in New England, pop in and see it.
