L'Ariosto restaurant in Glasgow's Mitchell Street has been something of an institution for more than 40 years.

The cuisine is Italian, but the eaterie's other claim to fame is its long history of providing musical entertainment along with your meal, a tradition which continues today.

Back in 1970, there was a distinctly Latin air to the proceedings, with the arrival of two new resident entertainers.

Singer Tony Capaldi, right, in the sombrero, was an Italian, and on the maracas was Mexican maestro Chayo Ballinas.
