STUDENTS at Glasgow School of Art are working hell for leather to win a prestigious craft and design competition.
The project, sponsored by Glasgow's ancient Incorporation of Skinners, founded in 1516, will see the winning student walk off with a cheque for £500. They will also get the opportunity of a day's work placement at top Scots tannery the Bridge of Weir Leather Company.
The winning student's work will also be showcased on the Bridge of Weir stand at an interior design and architecture event in London.
The Renfrewshire leather works, established in 1758, is responsible for providing the luxury upholstery in some of the world's finest sports and executive cars, including James Bond's favourite car, the Aston Martin DB9 Volante, ocean liners and private jets.
