A FOOTBALLER who headbutted his girlfriend has been ordered to do 80 hours' community service.
Shamed Ross County player Adam Strachan, who has previous convictions for assault and breach of the peace, originally denied attacking Laura McDermott, 20, at Buchanan bus station in Glasgow in the early hours of February 1.
But the midfielder, 22, of Bridgend Court, Inverness, was caught on CCTV headbutting and then forcing her to the ground.
Defence lawyer Bill McClusky told Glasgow Sheriff Court: "He is not very proud of his actions. He stands before the court deeply ashamed."
He added that the row was over the couple living apart and that they are now expecting their first child.
Sheriff Pamela Bowman said his actions were "completely unacceptable".
