THE show that helped launch the careers of Robbie Coltrane and Emma Thompson has finally been released on DVD.
Fans of Scots favourite Tutti Frutti have had to wait more than 20 years to get their hands on the show, and almost immediately the six-part series was selling like hot-cakes.
It tells the story of The Majestics, a band on a final tour of the country.
As well as Coltrane and Thompson, it featured Richard Wilson, Maurice Roeves and Stuart McGugan.
By closing time yesterday the Buchanan Street branch of HMV in Glasgow had already sold more than 75% of the copies it received in its first delivery.
One staff member said: "In the past couple of weeks, we have had dozens of customers asking for Tutti Frutti. There has been a real surge in sales."
The show was originally shown on BBC2 in 1987 and was only repeated once, on BBC1 less than a year later.
