JOBSEEKERS in Scotland take their appearance seriously when it comes to winning the interview game.
They're prepared to spend cash to get the right look, invest time to prepare, while more than a third will even get an early night so they are fresh to impress interviewers, according to new research for the Department for Work and Pensions.
In the current economic climate, most people are doing all they can to make a good impression at interview.
For the vast majority of people in the Scotland (90%) this means looking the part when searching for work, with 46% prepared to spend up to £60 and 27% up to £100.
Over 17% were prepared to spend even more and the national figures showed that men spent more than women.
More than half of us (56%) would get our hair cut, while many would even consider removing piercings (20%), having their teeth whitened (4%), or removing a tattoo (6%) to make the right impression.
While four in five (90%) prepare by working on their personal appearance, far fewer recognise the importance of rehearsing what they are going to say, at only two thirds of people (67%).
