GLASGOW'S landmarks could help capture a top prize for one lucky photographer.
A new competition, which is running as part of Doors Open Day, will see the winner have their work displayed at Glasgow International Airport.
Keen photographers are being invited to visit Glasgow's top 50 buildings, which were identified as part of an initiative to find the best buildings from throughout the city's history.
Residents and visitors voted for their favourites through an Evening Times online poll in 2010. And 26 of those chosen will be accessible during the Doors Open Day weekend of September 15 and 16. The photo competition is being run by the Glasgow Building Preservation Trust, who organise Doors Open Day, and The Mackintosh Heritage Group.
The winning photograph will also be shown as part of The Creative Mackintosh Festival exhibition in Glasgow Art Club.
Ruth Morris, events and development co- ordinator at the GBPT said: "We are asking people to go to the buildings and take a photograph – it can be of it as a whole, any feature of it or anything really."
The competition opens on Monday September 10 and closes on Wednesday October 3.
To enter email a low resolution jpeg photograph with "Landmarks Photographic Competition" in the subject box to doorsopenday@gbpt.org along with your full name, age (optional), contact telephone number, the name of your landmark building and a chosen caption (optional).
Entry is limited to one photo per person and all the finalists will be required to provide a high resolution image.
Go to www.glasgow doorsopenday.com for more information on the competition and to see a full list of the buildings and a map of their locations.
