TODD LUMSDEN has stated Albion Rovers' point gained against Stenhousemuir felt like a winning opportunity lost after the teams eight goal thriller eventually concluded all square.

Rovers went into the Coatbridge clash on the back of two successive wins in the Irn-Bru Second Division, and came agonisingly close to making it three before Stenny snatched an equalizer at the death.

The Cliftonhill draw leaves Lumsden's side sixth in the table as they continue to progress following a frustrating start to the league campaign, but the Albion gaffer knows it could have been so much better for his troops.

Lumsden said: "It feels like we have been beaten after going into the last minute ahead. To lose a goal in injury-time was agonising. It was end to end stuff, but we feel bad after the late goal."

Rovers took the lead in Lanarkshire when David Crawford finished from close range after 13 minutes, but Albion were soon on the back foot when Stewart Kean netted twice in short succession to cancel out the home side's opener.

Partick Thistle loanee striker Mark McGuigan bagged his second goal in two games to level the tie once more, before Stenny fought back to take the lead, with Andy Rodgers converting Darren Smith's cross.

Gary Phillips then pulled Lumsden's side level and another point blank strike from David Crawford handed Rovers the lead late on.

The determined away side continue to trouble however, and Stewart Kean completed his hat-trick in the last minute to deny Albion the win.
