FESTIVE partygoers are being urged to stay safe over the Christmas season.
Strathclyde Police launched its Festive Safety Campaign yesterday, with the message: 'All We Want for Christmas is to Keep You Safe'.
Revellers are urged to plan ahead for nights out, keep drinks in sight at all times and book taxis from a licensed taxi firm.
Deputy Chief Constable Ruaraidh Nicolson said: "While the festive period is a time for everyone to enjoy socialising with family, friends and colleagues, it is also a time when many people binge on alcohol."
Officers are also encouraging people to take part in designated driver scheme – with some pubs and clubs agreeing to provide free soft drinks to designated drivers.
Details of the campaign will be available on the force's website throughout the festive period.
