THE driver of this bus was rushed to hospital after his vehicle crashed into a phone box in South Lanarkshire.
At around 1.30pm yesterday, the vehicle left the road and crashed into the call box in Morrishall Road, East Kilbride.
Emergency services were quickly on the scene and firefighters used cutting equipment to free the driver.
He was taken to nearby Hairmyres Hospital for treatment for a head injury,which is not believed to be life-threatening.
Five passengers on the bus at the time luckily escaped injury but were taken to hospital for a check-up.
No other vehicles are understood to have been involved in the incident.
A police spokeswoman, said: "We received a report of a mini-bus crashing into a phone box in Morrishall Road, in East Kilbride.
"The five passengers were uninjured and the driver was taken to hospital."
The incident happened near the road's junction with Maxwellton Road at around 1.30pm yesterday.
Morrishall Road was closed for a while as police probed the incident.
